Podmínky podle videa od Nicka byly brutální. Vzpomínám si na soutěž před 2-3 roky v Chrudimi, kde fučelo obdobně. Většina pilotů protestovala, že v tomto lítat nebudou. Naši ze sebe vydali to nejlepší co v nich je.

Jen pro představu, naloženo měli někteří 170 g.

Below is a list of models as I saw them being flown in the flyoffs, hope I'm not mistaken. However more interesting is HOW they where flown as they were flown REALLY heavy. My Junior had to fly his Snipe at 390 grams to be able to come back from downwind so we had to borrow ballast from Joe Wurts. We only had 95 grams for him and Joe gave us a 140g piece of ballast for the last 2 rounds and that was barely enough. My junior flew a strong layup Snipe at 250 g empty and 390 full and I know a few pilots were flying their Snipes at 450 grams!!!
Launch heights were definitely suffering due to the heavy models.

I know Nikola flew his Vortex 3 only at 360 g because he didn't have a heavier ballast bar for it (100 g ballast in a strong layup model at 260 empty). Nikola's launch height due to the weight was significantly lower than usual, launching style is very affected by weight and Nikola is a quick and nimble launcher and not a power thrower so his height was very strongly affected.

Going into the flyoffs there were many saying Vincent was a strong favorite as he is more experienced in this type of conditions due to the typical Dutch weather, a prophecy that came true.

This was NOT your usual flyoffs and definitely not easy. I think many pilots in this flyoffs met these conditions either for the first time or just a handful of times before. I know both Israeli pilots in the flyoffs have never even tested their Snipes at the weights they were flying in the flyoffs, having borrowed ballast heavier ballast bars from Joe.

I still can't believe 11 out of 12 pilots managed 5 min in the last flight task at 830 in the morning with the 6 m/s wind that was there. Planes wore dots in the sky, many said they didn't know the orientation of the planes and flew on instincts. I saw with my own eyes and still can't believe what I saw...
